Cristiano Ronaldo is hardly hurting for money, but he's now reportedly set to make €20m for doing absolutely nothing after being dropped from upcoming film 'The Manipulator'.

Oscar-winning film director Martin Scorsese had been set to give the Real Madrid superstar a cameo in the film, about the life of Italian entrepreneur Alessandro Proto, after the Portuguese player bought a flash apartment in New York which used to belong to Proto

Proto appears to have vetoed Ronaldo's involvement though, apparently fearing that the 30-year-old's involvement in the film would overshadow the rest of the film, but it's reported that Ronaldo's lawyers have negotiated a settlement of an eye-popping €20m for him being dropped from the venture.

Scorsese has been quoted as saying: "We're sorry Cristiano has taken the removal of his role from The Manipulator badly, but in life you need to know how to lose as well.

"The move is based on the real life of Italian impresario Alessandro Proto, and is seems appropriate that he should have a say in matters. If Alessandro doesn’t want Cristiano in the movie, then it seems fine that Cristiano won't be in it."

Proto himself said: "Ronaldo is a great player, but that doesn't mean he is the king of the world. I don't want him in a film about my life. Martin Scorsese is in agreement with me.Cristiano Ronaldo is not going to be in the film. I am sorry if he doesn't feel valued, but in life you win some and you lose some.
